Hi,
I 'm working on the creation of a database for sales tax
for all states in the USA.

I do not want to "re-created the wheel" if anyone already has this database
, send me a copy.

In access 2003

thanks

Create a database with one table.
Fields are:
Auto Increment
strStateAbbrev i.e. NY
strStateDesc i.e. New York
lngStateTax .05 (or whatever)

Fill in the table.
Oh did you want someone to fill in the data for you?

Cheers,
Barry

How do you plan to handle states where localities have some latitude in
deciding how much they are going to tax, as part of the general sales tax?

FYI, in Texas, you'd need to get the tax rates from the Comptroller of
Public Accounts. And, different localities do tax different amounts. And,
that does change whenever the locality decides to change it. So you'll need
to figure out, too, how and how often you get fresh data and update.

As Larry has suggested, this project is going to be a real hairball! On top
of the "states with localities that have latitude" problem and the constant
changing of rates, you also have states where there are different sales taxes
depending the sales items (food, clothing, medicine etc.) This is really not
a one-person, run-up in a day/week/month, type of application; this is a
constantly-changing ongoing project

If you're doing this for an employer the only sane thing to do is to advise
them to subscribe to a service. There are a number that have a setup fee for
the software then a modest monthly fee for updating service.

If this is for a school project, go back and pick another project!

Either way, good luck!

thanks
the tax issue complex -yes,
however, if you have a template, where importation is possible that would
be great
