another archive/backup question

I am using 7.22.UC1 ODS on an HP J200. and am testing a warm dbspace
restore.

When I do the "ontape -r -D testdbs" to restore my test dbspace, once
it did the physical restore, it asked me if I wanted to restore log
tapes. I had made absolutely no changes to the database or tables
within the test dbspace after my last level 0 archive, so I said no.

This resulted in ontape saying "Partial system restore is
incomplete.", and the chunk being marked as inconsistent.

If the only way to bring the chunk/dbspace back online is to restore
log tapes, then why does ontape even ask whether I want to restore log
tapes?

Why would anyone do a physical restore without a logical restore if
it will not result in the chunk coming back online??

Any help/insight will be tremendously appreciated.
