DB2 Express-C on Mac Released?

For IBMers in the Lab (Helmut, Serge, etc):

I noticed that on the DB2 Express-C page (http://ibm.co/AvxIAa),
the newest News item says:

DB2 Express-C for Mac OS X officially released (Feb 23, 2012)

This link goes to the download page which appears to have DB2
9.5.2 (and shows a date of June 19, 2009). However, when I
download the software, all of the files within the tar.gz file
have dates in January, 2012.

I can't find any information about this, though. Can anyone talk
to someone "backstage" to find out what's going on? Is DB2
Express-C really going to be supported on Mac OS X? Will we get
an up-to-date version?

DB2 Express-C is not supported by IBM (any version) so not sure what you mean by that. The only level
of "support" is to post questions to the IBM DB2 Express-C forum, and there is no guarantee that
anyone will help you.

It does appear for some reason that the version just released for Mac OS X is 9.7.2 and all other DB2
Express-C platforms are 9.7.5. There must be some reason for that, but you can ask on the forum about
it. If you want to know for sure if it is really 9.7.2, you can issue the command db2level from the DB2
Command Window after install.

IBM does not make any guarantees about future availability of DB2 Express-C to run on any OS, and
obviously not on Mac OS either.

Unfortunately we are not allowed to talk about products and features which are
not officially announced yet and/or to comment on rumors.

I'd really love to give you an answer though.

I'm not asking for a comment on unreleased products or future plans - I'm just trying to understand what IBM has posted on their publicly accessible website - what does "officially released" mean?

The code works on Mac OS 10.7.3, which is clearly a change from the previous beta code. But it's still 9.5.2...

It means that it is out of beta.

Yes, you are correct. The code was refreshed to work on newer versions of
MacOSX and some additional changes were made.
But the code level is still 9.5.2.

Thanks for following up. I saw that a bunch IBMers have started
publicizing this today ... this is great news.

So now that it's out of beta, does this mean that I can purchase
Express-C FTL for Mac OS X?
