Record number hyperlinks

Here's what I want to do:

I have an Excel document with about 70 business opportunities listed
across to top of the document in a row.

Under each of these opportunity names I have inserted a "box."
Right now I can set up a hyperlink from each box to a particular "file"
in a folder on my computer so that when I click on the box, it will

FMP's report are now HTML.
it's a good thing for viewing, but not for using...

do you know of a way of keeping it in a fmp DB with tables for each
categories and links between them ?

Change the If statement to enforece an empty result when the test fails.
e.g.
If (ABorC1="A"; PartsUsed1; "")

Also make sure the Calculation Field is set to NOT be stored and TO
calculate when the source fields are empty.

Hi Jennifer,

Not quite an answer, but you also might think about restructuring your data.
It seems like are are repeating the same action 17 times for almost the same
information.

A) does it rely on fields which may be empty? Did you tick the options
to compute on empty fields?

B) is it a calculation field with result text or an autoenter on a
simple text field? If text field, mark the option to replace field
contents with new results

C) is the one of the fields a related data? This may cause trouble

The reason why I was asking is because I'm trying to use an If
calculation function in calculation fields where result is text. You
confirmed what I thought was true above, so I don't understand why it
is not working:

My calculation is the following for each respective field: Field1:
If(ABorC1="A";PartsUsed1)

Well thanks for your help Martin - of course I tested it - just a lot
of fields and factors going on. I like to get clarification from the
helpful FM community sometimes.

As long as it's the "same" version number of course. You can't expect a
database created in FileMaker Pro Advanced 8 to be able to be opened in
Filemaker Pro 4 ... but "same" doesn't have to be exactly the same. It
gets a little confused, but some versions of FileMaker Pro use the same

Yes, that's exactly what the two products are designed for. You can
develop in Pro as well, but you're missing a lot of tools that Advanced
has.

I'm surprised you posted here before trying the FM website for info...
