hardware needed to host 5.5 files

a new pc ? I want enough power and speed without going overboard.
Plan on using a dedicated machine to host the files, running WIN 98 ,
but plan
on using FMP "regular" to open the files, and share them across a
peer-peer network, as opposed to getting FMP Server.
Currently, our cabling is 10Base2, with BNC connectors.
Lastly, we currently use the IPX/SPX protocol, and other posters to
the group suggested going to TCP/IP. Is that a difficult switch? Any
words of warning
before I get started? Any help is much appreciated, THANKS !

Any current machine will be fine given:

This is rather antique by modern standards - hell, my normal
suppliers don't even have BNC network cards anymore!

If everyone is using IPX and its working then stick with that.
Does make me wonder exactly *how* you connect to the internet,
as IPX doesn't work for that, but I'll leave it for the moment.
