Hi,
I have a client I made a full solution for, and adapted and modified and
supported for the last 6 years - FMS 5.5, 10 x FM6, 50 files of which 4 have
extraordinary large number of records (300-500 000 !) -.
I recently installed a new version and imported all their records. By the
way, hopefully they will accept now to keep on line only a year instead of 4
years as for now.
The solution has a 'Call.fp5' file which opens all files. Each workstation
has a little 'Solution.fp5' file, which calls the hosted 'Call' file. It
works well.
The problem I encounter is that when launching FMP6 alone and trying to
'open remote' I see the 'Server' machine but grayed and none of the solution
files.
I have no idea why, and I'd be glad if someone would give me a clue on where
to look as it worked before my new version.
Many thanks for your help.

I forgot to say that there are all PC (Dell) : le serveur with Small
Business Server 2003, the rest with XP or some with W2K.
I am still looking for any idea to search on.
If anyone could give me ANY answer...
Thanks.

Thank you for your response.
But I guess both the server function and the SBS authentification are
working correctly, as the workstations can presently access the
solution when they launch it with the 'Call.fp5' little program I
mentionned that is on each PC. It's only when not using 'Call.fp5' but
trying to 'open remote' from the local FileMaker alone that the
'Server' is visible but Greyed Out, which makes it the not accessible.
Thanks for any other clue.

Hi,
I went to my client premisses and found (in fact the client suggested it...)
that I put ALL files as 'Multiusers(Hidden)'. So my calling file 'Call.fp5'
was hidden when trying to get it from FileMaker alone.
Stupid me !
Thanks to all who tried to help me.
