Does anybody have an idea how to connect a pure DOS workstation to a Linux PSQL server

Since the pure DOS requester (BREQUEST or BREQNT) used SPX for
communications, you MIGHT get lucky if you can configure the Linux box
for SPX and get Pervasive PSQL to use it. Good luck there.

The other option is to use the old DOS BOX TCP-based communications
requester. Unfortunately, with the size of the TCP stack and the size
of the larger TCP-based requester, there isn't much room left in the
base 640K for applications. Last I tried, I think there was about 250KB
left available -- not enough to even load most applications.

If you don't have it, you can grab a copy of the DOS requester from
PSQL7 from here:

We gave up trying to do this years ago.

We have a legacy DOS application that originally ran on 'pure DOS' using
IPX/SPX to a Novell Netware server.

We were able to get the application working quite well in 'DOS box' on
Windows XP and using TCP/IP to a Novell Netware server. We'll soon be
replacing the Novell Netware server with a Linux based OES2SP2 Novell
server.

Have you tried to run the application in a 'DOS box' on XP?
