Check that you have Orbix services started. Control Panel -> Services
If it's not started, start it (them).
You can also use old translator by typing next command to IDES's command
line:
/xto co bo fc
Then you're suppose to get a new pop up, where you can choose your
application.

I've checked, Orbix is up!
I've also removed Ideas and now i'm working with a fresh installation
in the same machine but the problem is not solved! :-(
Maybe someone has deactivated some Windows XP service but i do not really
know how to investigate.
Please, do you have any idea?

Thanks a lot! This is very useful!
Now i can export single parts Iges but i have some problem exporting
assemblies.
I need to restore the default translators (i need also Step!) but at the
moment your solution is better than nothing! ;-)
Many thanks!
There is no official support for I-DEAS 8 on Windows XP. Hardly to W2000
either. I remember hat I-DEAS 10 was the first one with XP SP2 support.

Did you install any fixes to XP before translator quit to work?
That old translator doen't support iges assembles. Sotty to tell you that.
Can you tell detailed information about your I-DEAS and Windows versions?
Hello, Hantte!
> Did you install any fixes to XP before translator quit to work?
Absolutely, no!
> Can you tell detailed information about your I-DEAS and Windows versions?
I-Deas 8m2, Windows XP Professional 2002.
Originally all was working well but at that moment it was the only
one CAD installed in the machine.
From then, they have been installed also Catia5, UG NX and Pro-E Wildfire.
Actually, only I-deas and Pro-E are installed.
Regards.
We used to have problems with I-DEAS 8 or 9 (can't remember which one)
and Pro/E 200x and/or Autocad. Reason was FlexLM. They all use FlexLM
and the last installation somehow overrules some settings of FlexLM and
other FlexLM client programs don't work well after that.
In our case I had I-DEAS on machine. It worked well until I installed
Pro/E. My workmate had same thing with I-DEAS and Autocad.
My proposal is that you uninstall Pro-E and try. If this doesn't help,
reinstall I-DEAS and try again.
NX is from same house than I-DEAS, so they can live together.
Catia uses LUM for lisensing and LUM doesn't effect to FlexLM.
Remember backup!
