I am doing a transient simulation. I set the simulation stop
time=1.6us and maxstep=20ps. When the simulation approach 90%, there
is a warning:
- Warning -
<COM.cadence.awd.graph.GraphManager@aa559d>
Problem in attempting to load data forGraphObject={title=*,
cursorPos=null, ID=trc:4536207.8}
null
And the simulation coutinues to 100%. But i find that all the node
voltage is 'null' and can not be ploted. It is really strange.
Have anybody encountered this kind of problem?
Thanks!
What simulator are you using? What version of IC (Help->About... in CIW)? If
spectre/ultrasim, what version? (spectre -W - also listed at the top of the log
file).
It's probably the issue covered in sourcelink solution 11264780
and you need to set either:
For Spectre writing PSF data:
setenv PSF_WRITE_CHUNK_MODE_ON true
For UltraSim writing PSF data:
setenv PSF_LARGE_FILE_ON false
But without knowing the answers to my questions, it's hard to be sure.

Andrew.

thank you for your response,
I am using IC5141 with spectre and the mmsim 6.2 is included.
Is this problem due to my circuit convergence or something else e.g.
disk space limitation?
Thank you very much!
And do you mean add 'setenv PSF_WRITE_CHUNK_MODE_ON true' in .cshrc
or .cdsenv file?
I have tried to add 'setenv PSF_WRITE_CHUNK_MODE_ON true' to .cshrc
file, but the problem existed also.
I assume you re-started icfb and re-ran the simulation?
Can you also do an "ls -al" of the simulation psf directory so I can see the
contents?
Andrew.
Hi, Andrew
The problem has been resolved. Due to the huge file tran.tran in psf
directory, the simulation result can not be shown. I have saved
limited node information, then every thing is ok.
Thank you very much!
Some people I support had a similar problem with the SST2 format in
IC5141. As the chunk option is available for the PSF format only, we
eventually used simvision to view the huge tran.tran as simvision is
not limited in the file size. viva in IC6 does not have a size
limitation off the top of my head - not 100% sure.

Riad.
