Relative cell reference? 
  I realize that with a relative cell reference, Excel will automatically adjust the address if I insert columns/rows, etc. But I'm trying to accomplish something different than that. Compute a search, retrieve the Row IDs from the cells that match the search and add to them a column ID which has numbers pupulating it's cells to make it possible to perform a sum with these ranges of cells. 
  Example: A B C D 1----* 2 2---- 4 3----* 7 The search term: "*" Cells that match the search: "a1, a3" Rows that matter: "1, 3" Column that matter: "B" Function: =SUM("ID number of a row containing object that match the search"B, "ID number of another row containing object that match the search"B) — This outputs a number.... more »

Google Docs, Spreadsheet name lookup 
  Hello - I am working on a Google Docs Spreadsheet to use as a time sheet for my staff. The plan is that each staff person would be have their own workbook and within that workbook, each sheet (tab?) would contain data for a given pay period. composing a new message in gmail from an email address listed in a google spreadsheet 
  I have a simple Google form that collects data from many users. I also capture the submitters email address which is listed in a column of the spreadsheet. I'm looking for a way to simply click on that email address from inside the spreadsheet and it automatically opens a new message window in Gmail with the to field already filled out. Help needed with exporting data from Google Spreadsheets to Excel via dynamic link

Semantic data analysis 
  Hi Can someone suggest something or a contact or place to look? Had a work problem I got personally interested in. Problem: given hundreds I excel sheets in minor variations of ten layouts, is it possible to use semantic analysis or some other method (machine learning?) to extract data?
