Hello Everyone.

Here is my scenario.

I have a google docs spreadsheet that is changed regularly - every two days or so. I want to automatically export that data into excel - note here, automatically!

I want my client to be able to open an Excel file and see updated data from my google spreadsheet. I am able to manually push the data to her via spreadsheets, but I want it to happen automatically.

I know that I can export a file (HTML, CSV, EXCEL, TXT) but that is not automatic.

I know also, that I can publish to the web, and get a link to the published data. I have made sure to make that public data and everyone can access it.

PROBLEM: When I try to open the URL (txt or csv) that Google Spreadsheets gives me in Excel 2011 (File, Open URL)
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0Aqr4T7rLB9FMdDZ2S1daa3RIeFNMdWVKck9FNWF6YVE&single=true&gid=0&output=csv

I get the following message: This site cannot be accessed. And Microsoft Excel cannot access the file "Filename"
Path does not exist
its being used by another program
name of the workbook is the same as another already open.

This is not the case in any of the examples.

Can anyone help with this solution or any other solution that will allow me to automatically update data from google spreadsheets into Excel.

Found the answer - I am using Excel 2011 for Mac - which does not allow you to do this. Crazy pointless laziness from Redmond.

Hi Phil - Have you found a way of doing this yet? This is exactly what
I need but haven't had any luck yet?
