Been having increasing interest recently in the nineteenth century and
the roots of modernism and positivism, and the bias this provides even
today in what most people think of as AI and even computers in
general.

A quick pass through Amazon.com turns up a new "Cambridge Companion to
Modernism" and a few other philosophically related works. I've been
reading Brentano and just picked up Comte. Any recommendations,
thoughts, or brief screeds in and around these topics hereby
solicited.

Got to read them, "know your enemy" and all that.
