I'm a new phd student researcher interested in artificial intelligence
and i'm having a bit of trouble trying to come up with a research
direction for myself.

I'm interested in the combination of neuroevolution and reinforcement
learning techniques. So far, i've read a ton of academic papers on the
subjects, but there's just so much information that it is overwhelming
and i'm having trouble finding the gaps in the current state of the
art.

Can anyone help me out here, and perhaps steer me towards an
interesting direction?

Hi superfish,

I'm not an expert here but rather to find that your research does pull
out some interest in me. Neuroevolution methods seemed to be able to
handle noisy and incomplete data quite well, are you looking into
applications of neural networks or improvement on neural networks ?
