trying to optimize using yslow

hello,
having problems trying to optimize using yslow. Can I just copy all
the stylesheets and javascript to directories in public and then use
asset manager or similar to combine them? If not what else? Still a
bit confused by desert.

Don't worry. Installed smurf plugin. Seemed to sort it.
