Common Cycle events to promote for Bike to Work Week (May 13-19)??

Hey all,

I am working on copy for our marketing materials for Bike to Work Week this year (YES!  A whole week!). 

 

I was wondering if Common Cycle has an idea of what you will definitely be doing that week.  Are you planning on having the Mobile Repair Stand at the Artisan Market on the 13^th and 19^th? 

 

Anything else on the agenda for that week?

 

I know you want to do a Bike Commuting Station, so I’ll make sure to let you know more about that soon.   And maybe you can help me out with some Bike Commuting Classes during that week.

Hi Nancy,

We are planning to start up the MRS in mid April again, so we'll definitely be up and going in May again. We discussed holding a Wednesday night (9th) clinic the week before BTWW so that we could help folks get their bike to ride before all the fun but we still need to contact the Farmer's market folks before that's official. We can also run some workshops - how many were you thinking? It's generally much easier for our volunteers to do evenings... :wq

I was thinking of doing at least 3 classes during the week of May 14^th.  We’d either hold them at 12 or at 5:30.   Once I nail down the dates and times for sure I will let you know.  I’d really appreciate having a Common Cycle rep or two at these events.

 

In terms of the clinic the week before, I can definitely promote that on our website, etc.

Hi Nancy,

I think it also might improve the chances of having Common Cycle people there if potential volunteers could have some input about the scheduling. I know for the winter commuting workshops this year, I would have loved to present, but I wasn't available for any of the times. I'm not sure how the scheduling works from your end, and maybe it would be too complicated to bring Common Cycle volunteers into the mix, but I wanted to suggest it.

Molly suggested that it might be easier for Common Cycle folks to help out with some bike commuting classes if you could let me know what would work best for you.  So here are the dates we’d like to have the classes.  Please let me know what works best for you.  We can then decide from their what classes would make the most sense.

Thanks for the opportunity to help, Nancy. I marked a few times that would be best for me, but I don't think I could do all of them. Just helping with two of the winter commuting workshops was about all I could handle in a week (back in November).

Other Common Cyclers, I think it's really valuable to have lots of variety for commuting to show people how easily it can be done. Please don't hesitate to help out with a workshop even if you don't think you're an expert.
