I am interested in doing a write up for Mr Kiasu. I cannot help but
notice that the comic is sort of ignored and considered trash. Problem
is I know nothing about his creators, collectively known as The
Kuppies.

Does anyone know where Johnny Lau is? My research shows that he had a
company called Vasunas that seemed to have closed. I actually tried
emailing and phoning the company. The email bounced. The phone number
is no longer in use. So where is he and the rest of the gang? How does
one contact them?

If anyone has answers, do please let me know. Thank you.

Hmm. I'm old enough to give you some details. The 'kuppies' name is
derived from the acronym 'KUP' - Kiasu Urban Professionals. The comic
is considered trash now, but when it was first released in the 90s it
was very hot property, because 'kiasu-ism' was a new and novel
concept, and the first few books explored this pretty well.

There were originally four 'kuppies'. I only remember two names:
Johnny Lau and James Suresh. I met James many years ago in NS. He
signed up as a non-uniformed staff with some department and was at my
camp for some event. Johnny Lau seems to have some links with MICA. He
is still actively doing some creative work. I don't have any more
details beyond these. Hope it helps.
