Publish messages from Server to all clients

My apologies if this is discussed somewhere in detail, however after
searching and asking on the IRC channel, I haven't gotten an answer
yet.

I'm using the jetty impl of Bayeux with a custom app server and am
simply trying to have my server publish a message that will be sent to
all clients. Can anyone provide a suggested method for this? What are

I'm developing a YUI Cometd client and having fun with a Jetty Cometd
server. The implementation is so far quite smooth.
1. My server do authentication on Hashshake by the ext field. It seems to
be the best timing as connect is not mandatory, and it's no good to check
security on every request.

hi,
when i'm trying to following the ChatDemo to implement my BayeuxService, I
found some problems when trying to use Spring to manage the instance. I
wonder if the BayeuxService could be refactored to be more dependency
injection friendly. The following are the specific issues:
1. requirement to extend the BayeuxService

I'm just trying cometd. It seems cometd-jetty-6.1.12.rc2 requires
jetty-util-7.0.0pre3.jar, otherwise, there is a org.mortbay.util.ArrayQueue
class not found exception.

we've a encountering some problems related to cometd notification;
sometimes the channel i have subscribed does not exists when i tried
the bayeux hasChannel method.

is their any way to know if a browser successfully subscribe to a
channel or what errors it encountered while trying to subscribe using

We've been writing a webserver, from scratch, and a week or so ago,
before I got tangled up in the mess of releasing the code (we're
finishing that on monday), I tried to get the cometd/bayeux 'chat'
demo to work (I still can't reliably spell bayeux :-). It kinda works
but the cometd code gets angry and starts sending me 'connect'

What mechanisms are there for sharing data between tabs, such that I
can work with the two connection limit in a multi-tabbed environment?
Am I entirely reliant on HTML5 postMessage, or is there something
legacy I can use to make multi-tabbed comet a possibility in browsers
like IE?

Optimization for many subscribers

All,
The optimization in jetty-7 for many subscriber to infrequent messages has been
back ported to the jetty-6.1 branch.
This optimization detects if a single message in a queue is being sent to multiple
clients. If so, a buffer is generated with HTTP headers, bayeux wrapper and JSONified
message and that buffer is reused whenever possible.

Hello,

I'm starting with cometd. So, I managed to install twisted stuff and
run cometd example.
I can load any example but none of them works. I always have Error:
Unable to load /cometd status:500 status=500 in Firebug console.

Hi,

When i try to integrate cometd chat application in my application
then i am getting below exception. I have configured acegi context
filter in web.xml. if i remove then cometd dojo implementation works
fine. but if i keep acegi configuration in my web.xml then it gives
below browser error. also java stacktrace is given below.

Hello,
In the cometd chat application that comes with Jetty 6 there is a message
sent that contains a list of users that are currently subscribed to the chat
when a client joins the chat channel. Is there a server side client that
generates that message? Where is the logic for that?

Hi All,

I have downloaded Hightide project and was able to run auctiondemo
for cometd. you are using DWR + dojo Cometd. I want to use
AMQ(Activemq ajax) for sending data to MQ ( as it is already
supporting it) and want send back to data to client using DOJO Cometd.
