I'm working a lot with startup companies. These are really young
Columbus startups, and they're building in Ruby.

With any luck, they have some success and help define the Columbus
Ruby landscape.

Is there interest in a 5 minute lightning talk on these new Columbus
Ruby companies and their apps?

Okay, I'm a bit of a tease. I'm actually going to be out of town in
May. But I'll bring 1 or 2 to the June meeting. I'll see if I can get
the founders to come present their app. Almost all of them are looking
for CTO's, eventually. Might as well be from the rb. :-)

I personally feel less than enthusiastic about startups that are missing a technical co-founder/CTO, but hopefully these guys are different and have code/demos already together and just need someone more senior to take the reins of development. :) But that's just my 2c.

i'm doing mostly mvp work. so it would be a year or two before they
are looking for CTO's, if the mvp is successful.

but when they do look, it'd be cool if they think back about the good
time they had at RB presenting their new app for the first time,
remembering all the smart kind people they met :-)

Yeah, some time I should probably pop up front and talk about the fun I'm having building ChoreMonster in Ruby/Rails and walk through some of the gems and other fun stuff I'm using for it. Technically the startup is Cincinnati-based, but I'm engineering it from Columbus :)

That'd be cool.
