Hey CRBers!
Some of you might be aware that I recently accepted a gig to work with
Obtiva in Chicago. (
http://obtiva.com) Although I am very excited to
have the opportunity to work with some really great people who are
doing awesome things to raise the bar in software craftsmanship and
apprenticeship, I'm sad to say that I will be leaving Columbus.
I've definitely been very grateful for the strong community here in
the Columbus and the many people I've met and worked with along the
way. Specifically the good folks at Edgecase. Joe O'Brien and Ken
Barker who brought me to Columbus in the first place continue to fan
the flame of Ruby/Rails across Ohio (and beyond!), including the
awesome erubycon enterprise ruby conference. And if you love this
group as much as I do, please continue to show and give your support
to these folks including Rob Stevenson, who does most of the
organizing and planning for this group, and Raju Gandhi, who continues
to carry the torch of the CRB Codejam. All of these folks work hard, a
lot of times on top of their normal responsibilities (jobs, kids, etc)
to bring you top-notch Ruby/Rails content and learning opportunities.
Count yourself lucky!
With that said, tonight will be my last CRB meeting. (As far as I
know) Wednesday morning I fly out to SFO for RubyConf and a few days
of vacation. After that, I'll be back in Columbus for less than 24hrs
before flying out to Chicago for my first day on 11/30. I'll be back a
few times while my wife and I work out the details of finding an
apartment in Chicago, as well as being back for Codemash in January.
If you want to know more, come find me at Rusty Bucket after the
meeting. :)
Cheers!
