I will not be able to host the hacknight tomorrow because I will be out of town. Ryan will also be gone, so I'm afraid that my house is out as a venue.

Can anyone else take it at such short notice? Or should we cancel another one?

I'm out of town as well.  Hopefully this will be the last one we miss for the summer.

Maybe it will be a tradition to skip July. Do we have a way to let meetup people know? Did any RSVP?

Hey All,

Do we have a Gadget Works meeting this Thursday? I got a reminder from Meetup.com but saw that it didn't have a location listed again. Just thought I would check/bring it up as something that could use attention.

Thanks!
Ben

I'm planning on it.  I've set the location to my shop unless someone else wants to host.

Hi,
We are back in town, and will plan to be there...
Brad, looking forward to hearing about the cnc/machining(??) conference.

"There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own. Nobody. You built a factory   out there - good for you.

But I want to be clear. You moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for. You hired workers the rest of us paid to educate. You were safe in your factory because of the police forces and the fire forces that the rest of us paid for. You didn't have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory...

Now look. You built a factory and it turned into something terrific or a great idea - God bless! Keep a big hunk of it. But part of the underlying social contract is you take a hunk of that and you pay forward for the next kid who comes along."

Sounds like everybody's back in business, which is good to hear. I'll plan to be there also. I have another event right before CGW that may prevent me from coming out, but I'd really like to make it to a meeting or two before the students come back and my schedule gets less predictable. Hope to see you all tomorrow/soon!

Hello everybody. I just joined the group and I know it's late notice but do you mind if I come out to the meeting? I know Dan from working at HobbyTown a few years back. I also joined the meet-up group and filled out my profile if you would like to know a bit about me:  http://www.meetup.com/Columbia-Gadget-Works/members/57022182/

Don't mind at all!  Love to have you.  Need directions?

As long as the address on the meetup page is right I should be able to find it.

Now that I have looked at the map again, directions might not be a bad idea. There are no structures on the map! I will be coming from Columbia. Thank you!

If anyone would like to meet me at the Break Time at the Deer Park exit on 63 just south of Columbia, you can follow me to Brad's. I will be there around 7PM, and I drive a silver Nissan Pathfinder with a CoMo Derby Dames sticker in the back window.

Let me know if you want to meet up there, and I will be sure to not be late. ;-)

Scott,

That sounds like a good plan to me. I will probably be there between 7 and 7:15.
