I met Gary Pauley at the space yesterday and went through the things on our list.

1) Heat.  He's installing a small ceramic type heater. It'll hang from the ceiling near the breaker box.  We'll revisit the window unit A/C when we get closer to summer.

2) Door lock.  He's replacing the current deadbolt with a lock/handle arrangement  We might want to consider keeping a combination padlock on the space since a livebolt won't be as secure as the current deadbolt.

3) Electrical needs.  He'll put in a run of outlets down each side wall.  That may not get done until after we move in though.  He's on vacation after this week and will be gone for a couple weeks.

4) Floor. He can't get it power washed before he leaves for vacation and we move in.  I'll bring a power washer on move-in day.  We'll need a couple hundred feet of hose to get to the water supply in the bathroom.  Anyone have a long hose?

5) Rent.  Good news; we only have to pay first month and security deposit = $440.  Then we'll get a bill for electricity and monthly rent.  Matt, can you go by his offices some time next week?  They'll have you fill out a form with contact information and pay the rent.  They can give you an address to send monthly rent after that.  They'll also have a new key for you for the replaced door knob.  Address/map here: http://www.manta.com/cmap/mm2n1f9/g-p-construction-service

6) Exterior antenna for wifi:  "No problem.  Have at it."

Awesome!
I should be able to swing by next week sometime, no problem.
Hey Scott/Zach - did the paperwork to get me authorized on the bank account get finished up? I don't want to write them a bad check..

I've got a 50ft hose I can bring if we need it.

Gary just called me to say he got the heater and outlets installed and put a keypad entry for the overhead door.  He also invited us to start using it any time we want.

So should we (whoever is available) meet at the space this weekend, to start cleaning it out, planning, etc.? How about Saturday afternoon? Sunday?

Sunday works a bit better for me.

Sunday is fine for me. If it is inconvenient for you, I don't mind just getting in and starting on cleaning myself. I can bring a push broom, shop vac. What else is needed in your opinion?

Anyone else want to join in this weekend? I'm thinking that if we can get the space clean and ready, we can spend "move-in day" building benches, moving in equipment, arranging the space, etc.

Pressure washing the floor would be good.  I've got a pressure washer but I don't have a long enough hose to get to the water.  It'll take a 100' or more.

Getting some better overhead lights would be the next priority.  I've got 2 4' flourescent fixtures to donate but more would be better.  That'll take a ladder, possibly an extension cord, and maybe chain to suspend them.

I am afraid I am not going to be able to come this weekend. I have a flu, that seems to have progressed into a sore throat. Fun Fun...
As soon as I am better...

If someone wants to give him a ride, Luc might be up for helping...

Dan

PS. We felt you guys were having all the fun, so we bought a Shapeoko!

"There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own. Nobody. You built a factory   out there - good for you.

But I want to be clear. You moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for. You hired workers the rest of us paid to educate. You were safe in your factory because of the police forces and the fire forces that the rest of us paid for. You didn't have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory...

Now look. You built a factory and it turned into something terrific or a great idea - God bless! Keep a big hunk of it. But part of the underlying social contract is you take a hunk of that and you pay forward for the next kid who comes along."

I have some long garden hoses, maybe 50-75 feet?
Again if someone wants to stop by and pick them up?

I can pick up hoses and Luc. What time do you want to meet up at the space, Brad?

I think I can make it on Sunday, too. It looks to be the better day for playing with water, anyway. I can bring some hose and a couple fans to aid in drying, too. If I can't make it, I'll at least find a way to get the paperwork to Scott so that we can get that taken care of.

Would 11:00 work for everyone?

I was thinking more like 1pm but I think I can be there at 11.

Luc (or Dan) if you want a ride, let me know by direct message or phone call, and I will pick you up.
