Invisible Colorcop Window

OS: Windows Vista Premium (SP1)
HP Laptop with Core2 Duo processor

I've been using colorcop for many years under Windows XP with no
problems. Lately I bought a new laptop.
There, Version 453 worked very well for 3 months and then the color
picker arrow (or pen) started to disappear and then reappear suddenly
for a while.
Then lately, I do not see the small window with color picker pen at
all.

I tried to remove the colorcop.exe to install newer version but
my computer refuses to delele it.


When I double click the colorcop icon on the desktop, the mouse
pointer moves to the right upper corner of the screen where there used
to be the
small window with color picker and colorcop components.
But no colorcop window is visible (or appears).
If I hit the "enter" key, I get the second colorcop window with color
table.

Very strange. It never did that before.
How can I solve this problem?
