This too is probably very simple, but I'm baffled.
I have a Cowon iAudio 7 player and it does mount when I plug it in.
The problem is that it mounts read-only. Even it I run:
mount -o remount,rw /dev/sdc /dev/I Audio7
it doesn't help. The mount command gives:
/dev/sdc on /media/I AUDIO7 type vfat
(rw,nosuid,nodev,uhelper=devkit,uid=1000,gid=1000,shortname=mixed,dmask=0077,utf8=1,flush)
But I can't copy any files to it:
cp: cannot create regular file `/media/I AUDIO7/MOVIE/mastering042.avi':
Read-only file system
no matter what user I try it as.
Any thoughts, hints, pointers?
9.10, 64bit.
This used to work as that's how I got the music on here a few months
back, but that was before the 9.10 upgrade (if that matters.)
Thanks for any info.

Does the device still work when attached to other Linux computers? Does a regular USB stick work when attached to this computer?
If you 'tail -f /var/log/messages' and then plug in the iAudio, what new lines appear?
Or for similar information, you could 'dmesg > /tmp/old-dmesg', plug in the drive, 'dmesg > /tmp/new-dmesg', then 'diff /tmp/old-dmesg /tmp/new-dmesg'.

I'm still a little baffled, but it's working now.
Editing fstab and running mount -a would mount it, it looked correct,
but it didn't work.
After a reboot, however, it is working fine.
I am really not sure what the difference is in those two scenarios, but
as long as it's working it's OK - but if anyone can take a shot at
explaining it, I'd still like to know.
Thanks for your feedback and info.
