Hey Collexioners...I have a brand new, unopened Castle Ravenloft D&D game that I am itching to play.  Anyone want to do a game night soon?  We can do it at Collexion, Cirrus Mio or West Sixth, etc.  Just let me know.

I'm in--any place works for me...easy access
to fresh beer is always a plus.

Some Wednesday at 7:30 or so (after the Collexion general meeting)
would be good for me.

I've been really interested in how theese games are.  If this is what Im thinking of there are 2 or 3 other themes in addition to ravenloft and I've seen them often, but passed on getting them because I was unsure how they play.  Sign me up.

Ben -- you are correct.  They started with Ravenloft and now have 3 others.  I'll send out the PDF version of the rules in the next couple of days and then we can set a date.

Excited...Chad

Hey Ben, Todd said that you have now played one or two of these games.  I think that would help as the rulebook looks 'hefty' to say the least.  I'd be happy to set a date/time and give this a go since there will be someone with a bit of experience as I detest reading big rule books.  :)

Anybody want to suggest a date/time in the coming weeks?

Todd mentioned after the Collexion meetings...around 7:30 (1930) -ish.

How are the coming Wednesdays looking for folks?

Sounds good to me.  Can we do it at Common Grounds or someplace with coffee or beer after the Collexion meeting?

What edition are we talking about here? I'm a DnD 3.5 afficionado. I have dozens of books from that edition and know the rules inside and out.

Kai -- this came out around Christmas of 2010.  Not sure if that was still 3.5 or 4e.  The rulebook for "regular" play is only 15 pages.  It can be made more complex by adding different rule components and different adventures.

Dustin provided this link for the download:
http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/Castle_Ravenloft_RuleBook.pdf

I think we can just give it a solid read before the 19th.

Looking forward to playing this.  If I like it, I will buy the others and bring them along for the next GAME NIGHT.

Ohh, that's fourth edition. I'm interested in 4e but I just haven't taken the time to invest in the books yet.

Its 4th ed rules and plays  like D&D light.  This isn't to say its easy, in both games i played it was insanely hard, but the rules were a watered down 4th, basicly ingore everything that isn't about combat.

Bein is out of town and I just got back from Idea Festival, so I've
got some work catch up to do. I'd also really like to wait for Ben to
be back. I'm game for next week though.

OOOooohhh!  I get it!

I assumed Castle Ravenloft was some sort of dragon-slaying rpg.

Now I understand it’s actually a resource management/scheduling game.  SimStaffMeeting?

Roll a d20 to see if your email was sent successfully. Roll a 1 to accidentally send your draft of your bank accounts and credit card information to your entire address list.

Sheeze, I've been thinking about Physics too much. I saw that, and
thought, why would someone want to roll an ice cube made from heavy
Water (D2O).
