Subject: TLC's Innovation Lab Thermal Flashlight - Need Construction Consulting

Hello,

We want to make a thermal flashlight. We need help constructing. We will purchase all supplies. Who is available to be an active resource for this project at TLC.

Appreciate anyone with experience creating this or interest to help.

Thanks,

Kristina

I have a couple of questions. What is TLC. Wikipedia gives a couple
of options, but I rather doubt that it's the Taxi and Limousine
Commission. :-)

What is a "thermal flashlight"? Is that one that projects a beam of
heat? Or, one that is operated from heat? What kind of heat, body
temperature versus ambient, or a roaring flame?

I've had a bit of experience with thermal to electric conversion
devices, and can probably offer some pointers, although I don't know
how active of a participant I could be.

Maybe this: http://publiclaboratory.org/tool/thermal-camera

Use IR temperature sensor (I have this one:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000O80B5M/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00)
to get the heat value, then throw light on it with an RGB based on the
temperature.

I like the idea of a flashlight that is powered by the heat from a roaring flame.
