The article is not that exciting, but if anyone wants to do a Collexion homebrew day, let's make it happen.  Could be fun.

Who all brews? I usually do a few 5 gallon batches a year.

The Council Clerk's Office does indeed track meeting attendance AND voting records.  At this moment this data has never been on my "watch" list to bring forward as open data.  Why?  Never thought of it.  :)

I will, however, put this down as a requested item for Phase II of the Open Data Initiative.

In the interim you can get this data by calling the Council Clerk's Office:  258-3240   When I spoke with Council Clerk herself, she said she would be happy to email it to you.

I am also extremely interested. I have a couple kits and some brewing equipment that I bought ages ago, and would really like to finally get my mega chocolate milk stout going. :> When would you guys be interested in doing a brew day?

likewise - I've never brewed, but would love to give it a whirl :)

Perhaps we can couple this with the next City Camp in December.  Maybe turn it into a "geeks" weekend.  We can then turn the Hillbilly Hackathon into more than just data/apps.  We can hack on some hops!!!  :)

This will give Janine something to drink during late winter/early spring.

I'm in. Just me know...I have many of the big items--just need to fill in the holes.

When I brewed before, one of the best parts was emptying the 2.5 cases of returnable Old Mil Light!

Old Mil Light....I am way too old to try that sh*t these days.  WAY too old.  Maybe a couple of cases of Lone Star returnables over a period of 6 weeks.

Is it rude of me to point out I'm reading this thread while drinking my home brew?

Hey check out this brew rig controlled by a Lego NXT.  This looks like a collexion project.

Is it just me, or is there something not quite right about the combination of beer and Lego?

I have two glass 5-gallon carboys towards the effort! (but have never brewed, though I've watched others a couple of times)

Fyi I only have equipment for extract brewing at 5 gallons. All grain would be more educational if anyone has the equipment.

Also to others, if wanting to chip in to do this it's about 40 - 60 dollars for all the ingredients for a 5 gallon extract batch. Someone with more familiarity w/ all grain brewing could give cost estimates for that.

Correct me if I'm wrong Sandy, but we do need some place with the ability to be quite sanitary (i.e. a good sink, etc.).  Any ideas where we could do this as a group?

Yeah, after the wort is made, you have to be very clean until fermentation is complete.
