Ok. Janine says to ship or get off the pot. She's tired of hearing me babble about this.
So here's the plan: Thursday evening head over to Broke Spoke at 6:00. Buy a donor and solicit allies. Eat dinner with family and friends at W. 6th Brewery. Find a kids bike somewhere for the front end.
Saturday: block off pretty much the whole day. Chop up the two good bikes, make one big ugly bike, ride it.
Sunday: Back to Broke Spoke for whatever parts are needed.
That's the theory, anyway. We'll see how close we get!
This is going to be a quick and dirty prototype. It will probably be replaced with a nicer one shortly thereafter...or not.
I'm thinking I'll build this one at home, where I have more tools and scrap and parts to pull from. If we have a mass build, we'll do it at Collexion. I encourage anyone interested to come help! We'll have fun and learn!
Call or email if you need directions. See you Thursday and/or Saturday!

We're going to broke spoke Thursday to buy donor bikes and would love to have dinner with friends at the brewery.
However, I'm thinking of holding off building this Saturday to get some household projects done, and hopefully sync with others' schedules better.
So, maybe the following weekend?
I am going to buy some steel, maybe Friday. Metal supermarket is super easy. Harbor steel is a bit of a hassle, but cheaper for all but very small orders. (never buy more than 1-2 pieces of metal from home depot!) I don't mind making a group buy if you guys expect to build. It will be $20-40 ish per bike, I think. Double that if buying for a single bike, plus the trip. Raise your hand if you want in. No payment up front and no commitment...you can back out later if you decide not to build -- I always like padding my stock pile.
