It could be the condenser from a still. Maybe. (As such, is it
registered with the BATFE?). It would be interesting to see the
various connections (No pictures came through.).

Could be a condenser from a still, if there's a provision for sending
cold water to the inner ball, and a gas port and drain to the outer
one. Maybe.
Or, maybe it's a Farnsworth-Hirsch fusor?
