We still don't have a sponsor for Thursday night's cocktail party, but
we'll try and find some way to get that rolled out. (If you or anyone
knows of a company interested in supporting the party it would be ~
$1,500)

Sweet, thanks Jim! Yeah, I knew Carl was coming this year and I sure
hope he brings his equipment... I've always wanted to jam with him and
CodeMash may be the place where we finally meet up. This'll be fun!!

There better be a few sets of Rock Band (2) set up as well - one was fun
last year but I think we'll want more than 4 people to be able to play this
year. And that's the only kind of musical talent I have...

Rock Band sets are up to sponsors. I'm pretty sure Quick Solutions
will be bringing one along. Feel free to poke other sponsors (or
potential sponsors <g> ) about bringing other sets!

I couldn't attend last year but will be attending this year. Is this
"Live Music" deal similar to a Jam Session that Microsoft has held at
their Tech Ed conferences? In other words, there are keyboard,
guitars, mics, and drums and you can just join in and play along?

Yes it's very similar. However the musicians are responsible for
bringing their own instruments. Therefore, they are the ones to talk
to about using their equipment. I (for one) don't mind if people play
on my set, as I know I beat the crap out of it and it hasn't broken
yet. If I'm not playing my kit, it's fair game as far as I'm
concerned... However, if you do sit down and play it, you will be
responsible for breaking it down and hauling it back to my car at the
end of the jam session. :) j/k
