Here's the skinny on the pricing for CodeMash 2009:

Precompiler (OPTIONAL event on 7 Jan): $85

Alumni: $120 (27 Oct - 31 Dec)
Early Bird: $135 (27 Oct - 30 Nov)
Regular: $175 (1 Dec - 3 Jan)
Procrastinator $250 (4 Jan - 15 Jan) *

We had to bump up the Alumni and Early Bird pricing $10 per due to
escalating food costs.


* We're happy to still take your money if you procrastinate so much
you miss the event.

Do we have a special deal with the Kalahari? No one's mentioned it
and the website doesn't say anything. Should I just say I'm a
conference attendee?

Oh good point!  We haven't published the Kalahari discount room rates yet. 

I'm 99% sure that the deal that you should get is the same as last year (Tuesday night - Saturday night):
Regular Room ("Run of House"): $88/night
African Queen Suite: $162/night
Combination Suite: $162/night
Village Suite: $262/night

So yes, we have a special deal.  Use the keyword "CODEMASH" when calling to get a room.

You can get more details when you call or on their website.  And I'm sure that if Jim is around today, he will check my numbers and post any corrections.

Thanks Dianne. I've booked my room and the prices quoted me by the
Kalahari agent were the same that you show above (I didn't ask about
the Village Suite, however) And for those folks looking for "Regular
Room/Run of the House" rooms and not finding them on the Kalahari
website -- the $88 rooms apply to "Huts" and "Desert Rooms" from what
I was told today by the Kalahari reservation agent.

Any chance of getting the session descriptions up on the website in
the next day or two? I'd like to take advantage of early bird pricing
if possible, but it's hard to commit without seeing the session list.
It sounds like this was a great event last year, but I'm looking for
something more tangible to help sell this to my management.

On the website it says they are announcing the final session list on
November 10th (today).

We're not going to publish the list today.  Soon, but not today.

We're slogging through all of the great submissions (happy to have such an amazing selection, but MAN it was easier work when less people submitted, LOL!).  We're gonna hit it again tomorrow.

I'm not sure whether we will have this done and published in the next few days, but we'll try (sorry everyone, but the committee is made up of volunteers and that's one of the things that keeps the pricing so low).  We'll keep you informed on the group and on the website!
