I went in and deleted the message as soon as I saw it, and banned the
poster (note: all of the spam messages were from the same guy). This is
currently an "open" group and there are several administrators, all able
to act in this way.

If it continues/gets worse (1 spammer in over a year isn't bad), then we
can either moderate posts or require approval of members. Or add more
administrators.
I have email delivered as it comes in, so I should be able to catch it
pretty quickly.
