when i run hosted mode, it looks like my web.xml is no where under the
hosted directory so i can not call my remote services. However, when
i build and package my application as a war, the web.xml is there so i
can call them. Anyone know how i get this to work in hosted mode?

this works, although the instant refreshes from the GUI were nice to
have

To summarize,
- gwt:run from scratch don't "see" the web.xml and don't deploy the servlets
- war:package + gwt:run works fine

is it ?

Hi,
I had the same problem a few weeks ago and that's my solution[1] (my
last post in the thread). Whit this config I can:
-Run the hosted mode (gwt:run and gwt:debug) properly with client-side
code instant refresh.
-Build a valid war file to deploy in an app server (I've tested in
jetty and Tomcat 6)
