Hello.
just now i got a mail from-
"codefor...@sun.com"

whose subject was-
"CFF 2008: Project Proposal Submission Confirmation"

and it had only these following lines-

"CFF 2008 Project Proposal received for Project "TOSIP"

CFF 2008 Team
http://blogs.sun.com/tirthankar/entry/happy_new_year_2009"

Can anyone please tell what i should conclude from this?
should i consider my project to be confirmed as submitted, or should i
consider it as approved for final coding, that is the next phase.
these lines tell about a blog which is of Mr. Tirthankar's, so can he
guide to some good place to ponder?
Thanks in advance

Hi Sheikh,

This mail means that your project proposal has been successfully recieved, in plain and simple words. It doesnt say that your project has been approved. So, kindly be patient and wait for further mails and response from the Code for Freedom group.

Hi

The first confirmation mail is sent by an  software when you submit the proposal form. This software has/had some bugs and was not sending the mail to every one. So I created a new software to send confirmation emails. My mails come like

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

whose subject was-
"CFF 2008: Project Proposal Submission Confirmation"

Body:
CFF 2008 Project Proposal received for Project  <project name>

...
...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So if you have got this email be rest assured that we have received your proposal. If you have not got this type of an email after 48 hours of your submission, then mail codefor...@sun.com with the following
1. Primary Email ID
2. Project Name
3. Date of proposal Submission.

Note all the above mails just confirm that we have received your proposal. We will evaluate  your proposals and then send mails to you informing the outcome of your proposal. We plan to complete the evaluation by 31st Jan 2009.

As a part of the evaluation mails, the evaluators may ask you additional information. You are supposed to respond to them directly.

In the meanwhile you can always work on your project till we officially confirm the acceptance of your project.

Thanks,
Tirthankar

i too got it.
thanks a lot.

one more thing.
will this extension of 15 days in the last date for submission, affect
the date for final submission?
or do we still have to submit the final project before 31st of april
2009??

Final submission is 30th April . There is no 31st day in April :)

We have extended the Proposal submission to Jan 18th is because we had outage in our software.
