I guess there's a Turing test here:
"For each item, choose the score you wish to assign from 0-3. You may
assign scores to as many items as you like. The winners will be chosen
from the highest scores"

Jean,
Do you mind if the ballot stays open for a full week, until 5pm on
Tuesday, October 7th? Some folks may be away this week, and so 72
hours may not be a long enough window.
I have a note ready to post to the code4lib list, but I'd like to get
your approval on this before sending it out.

We can pass on the also-rans, then. Barring a major objection, I
retract the suggestion.
We ought to post the ballot link to the code4lib list as soon as we
can, assuming Brown is on-board. :)

Several of the folks nominated last year burbled up again this year.
I don't know if everybody mentioned last year needs to be included.

Excellent.
I'd be interested in hearing from others what they think about
including the 2008 also-rans. Then we ought to get some sign-off from
Brown and post the ballot link to the main code4lib list, assuming we
can get elm to fix it by then.

Yes to the first part. It is taking the credentials and posting them
to the address specified in the code4lib.org home-page login-form. But
I don't actually have to read the screen response; the response header
code and message seem to be enough.

As a followup to this, it's no problem adding names to the ballot even
though voting is open (although I wouldn't suggest adding anything,
say, Friday afternoon).
Since votes can be updated to changes (and we haven't broadly
advertised the election being open), this shouldn't be much of an
issue.

Jean,
Do you think we ought to expand this list to include 2008 vote-getters
who were not selected? I notice they are not in the current list but
the voting application can accommodate them if folks think this is
worth doing.
Alternatively, perhaps we already have a great enough selection?
