clarity on avoidable complications

The documentation provided by HCI3 seems to indicate that potentially
avoidable complications (including readmissions) are both included and
excluded from the bundled payment amounts produced in Table 3.
Are they potentially avoidable complications included or excluded?

Hi Bill,

Could you point me to the section in the documentation you are referring to? Perhaps I can clarify further.

Potentially avoidable complications are included in Report 3 - if they are clinically relevant to the episode, they are always included in the episode and simply flagged as potentially avoidable. We categorize all inpatient readmissions as potentially avoidable.
