Hi Folks,
Thanks to all of you that made our last Book Sale such a success. Our sales
were almost $2,500 and we thank those who donated, especially those who
moved, unpacked, sorted, priced and shelved, and also those who bought all
of those books. We're working our way through another 300 boxes now and
will let you know when we've scheduled the next sale.
Since we are a privately operated National Park, we have to raise our money
to run the 18th century living history farm and its programs. So we sell,
books, stuff, plants, educational kits we make, etc. and sometimes we have
fundraising events.
One of those coming up is our OKTOBERFEST on Friday, October 2 from 7 to 10
here at the Farm. One of our Pavilions has clear sides, a stone fireplace,
heaters, etc. so we're throwing a party to raise money for the Farm. We
have live music, a cash bar with good beer and wine, a menu of grilled
brats, chicken and sides and a silent auction.
I hope you will join us for a good time for a good cause. Attached is the
flyer with reservation order form and a letter and tax form for soliciting
items for the silent auction. Some of you have asked for both so here they
are. Please let us know about the donated items and we need to have them
here at the Farm by September 29.
Thank you so much for supporting the Farm. We really need your help as it
has been financially a tough year for the Farm. But, we're a Farm and we
understand there are good years and bad years in farming. But with the help
of our friends and neighbors, we will survive.
