Hi Folks,
Hope you're enjoying this beautiful weather. We've used this long fall to
spread manure and plant the wheat and rye for harvest in early summer. But
now the holidays are rapidly approaching and tomorrow night, Tuesday,
November 17 from 5 to 8 pm is the GateHouse Holiday Open House. We invite
you to drop by for a little refreshment and music while starting your
holiday shopping. As we did last year, we will also be burning off the
front garden getting ready for planting a cover crop of rye.
And we have finally scheduled another Book Sale for Friday night, December 4
from 5 to 8 pm and Saturday, December 5 from 10 am to 5 pm. Sorry it has
taken so long but we have been overwhelmed with books and no longer have our
easy disposal system of sending books to India. We're working on some other
options but if you know of a worthy cause that needs books, please contact
us. Some groups we have donated to in the past are: school libraries, Scout
mentoring projects, senior centers and nursing homes, Salvation Army,
hospitals, etc. We'd be delighted to load a few bags in your car for drop
off to someone else!
Thank you for supporting the Farm and we hope to see you soon.

Hi Folks,
We received so many great ideas in response to my last email asking for help
in finding a home for our excess books. So, it's Good news! We've found a
non-profit organization that will take our extra books so they will be
benefiting a good cause. Now we need to pack the books in boxes ready for
pick up on November 27. So, we're sending out the call: WE NEED BOXES!

They need to:

*be reasonably sized (i.e. we need to be able to lift them once they're full
of books)
*have lids or flaps that can be closed

If you have any boxes to donate or can go scrounging for some, please bring
them ASAP. We will be placing all boxes in the garage, so drive around to
the back of the office to drop them off. If you have any questions or need
directions, please email me or call 703-442=7557.

And don't worry, we'll still have plenty of books for our sales (next one is
Dec. 4 from 5 to 8 pm and Dec. 5 from 10 am to 5 pm. But now we'll have
space to shelve the hundreds of boxes of new books that arrive weekly!

Thank you for supporting the Farm.
