Funding for older adults with acquired speech loss?

Scanning Worksheets and Past Papers 
  Hi All, I have had a query from a family about whether it is possible to scan school worksheets and past exam papers into a computer for users to input the answers onscreen. I'm thinking that this is theoretically possible, you could scan in and just type over the top, but it could conceivably get quite complicated, with issues around font size etc. Does anyone know if there's a nice, neat, easy way of doing this that I could recommend?... more »

Apps for Environmental Control (for UK TV) to go on iPad 
  Anyone have one of the IR remote apps and dongles on their iPhone/iPod Touch to work their TV's in UK? I seen minired eye which seems to be based in US and although they ship to UK, I got no idea whether it will work with UK brands (Philips and Bush TV's here) I have seen a Sky plus app that seems to work for iphone but i think... more »

Switch access 
  We have a patient on the ward at the moment who has been communicating only via eye movement to yes no questions (he can open and close his eyes but its slow and ?consistent). He now has some head movement though fatigues really impacts- we improvised using a pal pad switch with his head movement but this was not consistent or reliable.... more »
