Communication partners influencing AAC users

Can anyone point me in the direction of any research which demonstrates
that communication partners/therapists etc can influence the communication
of AAC users? I'm talking about general AAC use and not controversial
approaches.

What do people do for iPads that are given to patients with life limiting illnesses in terms of apps that are bought by the individual, but will be lost to the family when the iPad is returned?
