I am having trouble setting up custom domains on the service. I have followed the Wiki documentation, but when I try to access the domain: http://njsbot.simonholywell.com/  I get back:

hostname not known

Have I mis-configured something?

The DNS side of it is working and if I try to add the domain via the cloudnode CLI again it comes back saying it has already been added.

Thanks,
Simon

Sweet, it has started working now!

Thanks,

Cool, a nice intro page. I haven't changed anything regarding DNS though. However, I have pushed new error pages and a platform update. Generally DNS stuff needs it's time. I'll keep an eye on the custom domain feature.

Did you do anything to get it working? I set up the DNS record and ran the command, but when I visit the URL, it gives me a cloudnode Application Does Not Exist error.

I guess it just took a little bit for cloud node to propagate the change. However, I was wondering how I could get my domain name without any sub domain to point to my cloude node app. I can't add a cname for a non subdomain

Yes, it takes a while. You can use any name to point to your app. Details can be found here: http://docs.cloudno.de/custom-domains .

If you can't set a CNAME for a non subdomain, that is a limit set by your provider. We allow it.

Let me just say "Thanks!", there was a bit of agonizing while the propagation on both sides was going on, but it works as advertised and it is a great feature.
