Hey guys,

Just a quick question- has any work been done towards supporting
serialized data in Cloudbase? For example, Hive can support tables
that have data in JSON/Thrift format. Is this possible with Cloudbase?

No such support as of now.

But extending CloudBase to support semi-structured and totally unstructured data is in our roadmap. If there are more requests for supporting JSON/Thrift format, we can consider including that too.

Would you please open a request on sourceforge tracker for the same-
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=242384&atid=1119440

Thanks,
Taran

Taran,

I added it here: https://sourceforge.net/tracker2/?func=detail&aid=2669958&group_id=242384&atid=1119440

I think this would be a useful feature for Cloudbase. I know that Hive
supports some type of built in serialization and has deserializers for
JSON/Thrift built in.

Thanks Steve, we will update the tracker when we will have some inputs on the requested feature.

Best,
Taran
