Would it not be more suitably posted in this group, or in the Compiler docs/wiki, than in a Google+ community? Traditionally (for what tradition is worth), this sort of thing is posted to a software project's mailing list. I expect that many of us either do not use Google+ or will not join the new community, so we'd miss out on useful news.

https://groups.google.com/group/closure-tools-announce might be the truly appropriate place, but this list appears to be unused.

I apologize in advance if this was already posted to the list, but I was unable to find such a post. Or, perhaps a more formal post was planned but held back until the code was committed.
