CLJ-886 - java.io/do-copy can garble multibyte characters

Would it be possible to get http://dev.clojure.org/jira/browse/CLJ-886
accepted into 1.4. It's a bug fix, and not a feature, and it can be a
pretty insidious bug in that it randomly and infrequently corrupts
character streams. (Making it hard to find.)

Jeff, I have attached another patch to CLJ-886 with your fix, plus another one found while enhancing the clojure.java.io unit tests to exhibit the bug in the original code.

I'm not sure yet what the next step is that I can take to get it closer to being committed -- still learning the ropes on JIRA tickets myself.
