This has been going on for a few months. I finally got aggravated
enough to break out CamStudio and record what happens so I can show
you.

Upon first login, using the correct user ID and password, the login
fails perhaps 80-90% of the time. If I close out the failure message,
and *without changing a thing* click the logon button again, the login
works and I can see my account.

This seems to happen in both Firefox and IE8. I am using a Windows OS
in both cases.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Hi Geoff,
thanks for your report.

May I ask you to try the following:

1. try login with the new "gamma" interface
(https://www.clipperz.com/gamma/) to see if the issue does happen also
with the new (and not yet complete) version of Clipperz

2. try login with the usual "beta" interface
(https://www.clipperz.com/beta/) using Chrome or Safari for Windows

Thanks! And sorry for the trouble Clipperz is causing you ...

Best,
Marco

Hi Geoff and Marco,

Login failure has been a problem for me too - but not enough of an
irritation to write here.
I'd never tried the gamma version and, Lo and behold, no problem!.
I'll continue using the gamma version to test because as Geoff says,
it only happens in the beta about 80% of the time. Mainly, when I've
just opened the browser. I can log out of Clipperz (in beta) and log
in again with no problem.

------
I also noticed that at least some of my Direct Logins work - they
don't in beta. The one that doesn't work requires two consecutive
passwords (one to logon to OVH manager, and then one to logon to
PhpMyAdmin). In fact, I then find myself back in the beta version.

-----
Also I can copy the password without having to make it visible - I
can't in beta. Not a problem because I work mainly at home.

I'll explore more in gamma now I realise it's very usable.

Cheers,
Glenys

P.S. I'm on Mac OS X 10.7.2 using the latest Firefox and Chrome.

The Gamma interface is indeed usable, but in the latest Firefox on
Windows it runs off the right side of the screen on my laptop. On the
24" monitor it's fine.
