Are you using the beta or gamma version? If using the beta version,
try the gamma version. It has very fast search facilities and you can
tag items by adding a hashtag in the title, e.g. "HSBC #bank". No need
for a clumsy search form.

Hello Guido,

please try /gamma version (same credentials, same data):

It has a very fast search option that has put any plan to implement folder or tags into stand-by.
/gamma has some feature still missing, but it is overall very usable.

Hope this helps.

Giulio Cesare

Thank you very much,
I'll try the gamma version with hashtag!

Maybe in the gamma release consider the possibility to bookmark the most used search query.

Alex,

we have plan to add a list of used tags, possibly sorted by number of entries where they appear in, or by usage pattern.
But I don't think we will add hierarchical folders for the time being.

Best regards,

Giulio Cesare

Hey Giulio,

I'd just like to say that I don't think tags are straight replacement or improvement beyond the taxonomy created by having folders. I would really love to see folders for cards in clippers. The thing about tags is you actually have to type something in order to create order, which means more thinking. Also, you can't visualize things to trigger your memory like you can if you have a list of folders you can scan through.

A halfway solution would be to have a list of commonly/recently entered tags that you could scan through and click on.

I really love clipperz and we'll be donating soon, especially if there is a folder hierarchy.

Alex

Hi Alex,

A workaround for folder organisation that I read in this group a while ago is to create virtual folders in the name of the entries, separated by / , (and you can also add #tags too) e.g.:

administration/bank/HSBC #UK
administration/energy/EDF #FR #electricity
administration/energy/British Gas #UK #gas
social/facebook
social/twitter

etc.

It's not pretty, but it makes it easier to organise cards.

Thanks Thomas, not a bad idea at all!
