Hashcash instead of Captcha on Clipperz.com comments

Hello,

thanks to the suggestion of one of our users [1], I have found out a
new module for the Drupal CMS we are using for the clipperz.com sites:

I have now enabled it and will monitor the rate of spam comments in
the next days. If this work out as expected, I will keep the Captcha
disabled, for the joy of everybody.

In any case, I will update here on the findings.

I have just deleted the first spam comment. A little too soon for me.
Let's hope it is just an isolated issue.

I have just tried to post a comment on our own site, and realized that
the Hashcash module is considering me a spammer too. :-(

There is definitely something wrong going on; I will try to solve this
issue with the hashcash module, or revert back to the annoying
captchas.

The current test with the hashcash module for Drupal has failed.

Some users have complained that they were not able to submit the
comments, and a few spam messages get through anyway.

We will try this again once a new version will be available, or we
find some time on our own to try to fix it.

Now comments on the main Clipperz's site works fine: at least spam
messages have started flowing in again. :-(

I have just installed the latest version of the Hashcash module (1.4),
and everything seems to work fine.

I have been able to post a few comments, and no spam message has passed yet.

Hello,

we have just got the first legitimate comment since I have installed
the Hashcash module!!!

And this without getting any spam message nor having to annoy our
users with captchas.

Simon deserves our best thanks for his module.

At this point, I would consider this problem positively solved.

some of our visitors are still having problems adding comments on our
site due to the hashcash module we have installed to prevent spam.

After too many reports by users complaining about the problems they
faced to submit some feedback on our site, I have reverted using the
Captchas instead of the Hashcash.

Hashcash would be so much more convenient, when it just works.
Otherwise it is very frustrating.

Luckily, the implementation used on our own application is MUCH more
reliable! ;-)
