Camp Wanapitei - Trent Temagami Weekend, Sept. 24th to 27th:

There are a few spots left so register NOW for the 37th annual Temagami Weekend. Students, staff, faculty and alumni from Trent University, along with participants from Queen’s, Carleton, Laurentian and Nippissing Universities, all meet up for this four day weekend at Camp Wanapitei to canoe, hike, eat good food, and engage with new ideas.

This unique event celebrates research and provides a chance for students, faculty, staff, and alumni to hear a range of speakers as well enjoy some time on the land. The weekend’s program is designed to create dialogue across academic disciplines and across cultures and will appeal to those interested in Canadian and Indigenous studies, literature, and environmental and resource studies. The program will also be of great interest to international students studying at Canadian universities.

The Temagami Weekend costs only $125 for undergraduate students (faculty, staff and professionals pay $200.00, children pay $50). If you want to participate, you’ll need to fill out a registration form and waiver. These can be found at the following web address: http://Wanapitei.net/trentweekend.asp. The forms should be printed, filled out, and dropped off at the KWIC office in the Environmental Studies Building, Trent University in Room B101 (ground floor next to the Crypt).

That’s KWIC’s news for now. Stay tuned as Jo Hayward Haines, David Geraldo and Sheila Howlett get KWIC’s monthly Trent Radio Program, CONVERGENCE, underway next month.
