Subject: traveling after lip surgery?
Bridget's lip surgery is scheduled for Mar. 23. We have a wedding to
attend and if we go we'd be flying from Chicago to New Jersey on April
8 and returning April 11. At this point we haven't responded yet
because we're not sure about traveling so soon after her surgery (2
weeks). How long did it take your kids to recover after lip surgery?
Would you advise us to go or stay home? We'd also be visiting family
while there so we'd really like to go, but if Bridget will still be in
pain or irritable we don't want to make it worse by traveling.

There is also an issue with the bride not wanting children at the
wedding itself and they've offered to find someone to babysit at the
synagogue so we wouldn't be far from her. But I really don't want to
teach a stranger how to feed her (haberman, or cup feeder for after
surgery).

Thanks for any advice!

Hello everyone;

We've always traveled days following a surgery, but then again we're
going 5 hrs away by car. Our team isn't in the same city so we're always
traveling after surgeries... My advice would be to talk with your doctors
about traveling, and take heed to your own feelings. You know ur child a lot
better than anyone else to make that type of decision.

Angela, you are probably going to be fine traveling on the 8th.  And about
the child care...I'll bet if you feed her right before the wedding she'll be
fine for that period of time during the service, so the caregiver may not
even have to feed her.  Of course, giving them a crash course in the
Haberman would be in order...

Don't miss out on this special time!

Regards,

Debbie
