I&#39;m setting them up in the rafters with the 16,000Btu. Timken oil furnace blowing on them for a couple weeks in hopes it will suck out any moisture. Maybe a couple hours in the oven before sticking it in the kiln will finish it off.

  Yes Ann, I&#39;m getting there, slowly to be sure, but that&#39;s clay time. Finally found a set of insulated Carhartt bubs in the right size so I won&#39;t mind going out in this weather. I usta love the winter! Now I just get sluggish, maybe I should go into town and roll some K-12 kid for their Ritalin and get me a little pep thing goin on eh? The only criticism my boss had during my last performance review at Wal*Mart was I seemed to lack a sense of urgency but he is too young to realize why I don&#39;t do &amp;quot;real quick&amp;quot; anymore. But we will get the kiln done, soon, maybe for New Years. Then starts the real work of unloading and interpreting the results for a month or so after the firing. I might end up having to look for a real job so be patient, stay in there, and don&#39;t let it fool ya eh!

It might seem this shelf setting would cause pain in the back but by bracing myself against the chamber wall my arms are free to manipulate the shelf without loosing my balance and falling onto the setting...

  i have been looking at some of the plans in it and some of the numbers &lt;br&gt; seem way off. i assume it was in centimeters and when i convert most &lt;br&gt; of the figures, they work. some of the others are so far off-like 90&amp;quot; &lt;br&gt; under the hobs in a firebox. i can&#39;t figure it out. anyone know what i &lt;br&gt; am missing? &lt;br&gt; btw. the firebox is down save one or two courses. we&#39;ll start

  Hay Folks, &lt;br&gt; Oh that smell of Jordan in the morning. I found a 5lb. bag of Jordan, probably from the 70&#39;s, and added about half to about 25lbs. of my throwing slop made up of ^10 stoneware, some of my flabby Rhodes porcelain, a good bit of the Rovin RO-99 Porcelain. There might still be some of the fireclay lag I think got mixed in but that could have also been some leftover Western Michigan University studio stoneware. I see by itself it will make pots that can fire to ^6. I think I recall using Jordan in stoneware bodies way back when but wonder if this is going to lower my working temperature because I&#39;m making stuff for the front of the chamber at the throat arch which could get to ^12 or more if I&#39;m not careful. Any idea if I&#39;ll loose refractory properties with this addition? I can always set it aside and use it in the tail of the next load where it will be cooler if it might melt. Or I can mix the 28½lbs. in with all the other scrap and thin the Jordan
