Well it could be a thought here too if my wife had a job, but 2500 miles is a long way to get a horse. I would really hope someone takes him but that is a sign of the times people don't know how much longer they would have money to take care of their animals, I was lucky last winter and the Amish took nine of mine off of my hands else I would be in trouble too because I just barely have enough to feed the four that are left.Jerrie

I will be leaving the ranch soon, and this pony must be gone. I will have to call the vet and have him put down if no arrangements are made for a new home. He is free, and is a 12 yr old stallion. Halter trained only, foundation bred, and is 44 inches. Country Star Clint Black is his reg name.<Clint><195900979wvtvOG_th.jpg>

I was familiar with your program years ago, when I had ponies being shown. I have no problems at all with you taking him...he would be in a good place. Please lets figure out how to do this. Pat |

Hi Pat;
I'll talk to my husband about logistics and such. He's a contractor and we are in our busy season right now, so out of town travel is tough. Any help we could get getting him down here would be great. And if anyone closer, or a show home shows an interest in him, we're happy to step aside. We just want to see him saved.
Feel free to contact me directly. And let me know if you want to see pics of our place and our other critters.

Just talked to Al Ziegler.....If I met him in Moses Lake he would charge $500.00 or Door to door is $650.00 It would cost me $120.00 to haul to Moses and back home again, ( and I do not have any $ right now, so I would have to have help, so it would be just the same price for him to come up here.plus his health cert/ coggins etc paper work...would have to be ASAP. He would pick him up on Saturday the 25th. ?????

Hi Pat;
Talked to hubby; he's fine with me bringing him home (he actually said "like I could tell you no to a rescue pony"), but we are tied here for a while. The next 6 weeks are slammed for us with work, so he said no out of town trips for now. We've got another month or so before fly season (I don't like to geld during summer), so if we could somehow get him down here quickly, he could be gelded before the frost. Ideally, he'd go straight to Idaho Equine in Nampa (just off I-84) for gelding, then Mike I could haul himup to the ranch a day or so later. Otherwise I'll have to wait til after frost to geld(which is fine, I can set up a stallion pen, as I had a rescue stallion here last year, not a big deal). I'd just like to get it done quickly if possible so he can have free range with the others sooner. My pony mare is actually down in the pens now because of spring green up; she'll go back out in another week or so if it stays dry. |
Again, any help we could get with getting him down here would be appreciated, as I'd like to use my set aside ranch fund toward his gelding, shots, and first cutting is coming off in a few weeks.
|
Anything you could tell me about him would be great. What's his personality like? Does he have an issues I need to be aware of? Dietary restrictions (ours graze nearly year round, with grass hay or mixas needed)? I noticed he has a lot of white on his face; does he have issues with sunburn? Which shotswill he need? Stuff like that.
Talk soon,
Suzanne

Hey Pat,
Check with the Welsh people. They are thick as thieves up there and often take on cheap hauls to help with gas costs. Worth a try. Check Yahoo groups WMP2 it's the most active group. Best of luck and God bless ya gal!
Warm fuzzies,
Ceci
