i was lucky enough to catch them at The Electric Factory in
Philadelphia PA and also managed to cop a free copy of the new album
courtesy of a Media promotion in the bar next door before the gig. The
newer material came across better overall during the gig - although
one or two old faves did go down a storm as you can imagine. I did
think the new material seemed better musically - not as basic as the
first album - some nice jams within.
i would also add that the support band was Heartless Bastards - and
they swung between ok and horrible ! the singers voice gets very
irritating ( she is not that great a singer ) and I just could not get
into them. they had one or two moments where they had a bit of a jam
that got going quite well but other than that I just felt that the
singer is a ' Chrissie Hyned/Sheryl Crow' wannabe - with far less
talent.
